A: I want to work for Red Bull and this is a way to demonstrate my enthusiasm for the company.
Q: Couldn’t you just use colored resume paper?
A: Yes, I could, but I think Red Bull has seen that before. I want to stand out.
Q: Couldn’t you just put on a clown suit and ride a unicycle outside the company’s offices?
A: OK, knock it off.
Q: For which position are you applying?
A: Nice try.
Q: Have you ever done anything this crazy before?
A: Well, I’ve run four marathons. I also once tried to take the last bite of cheesecake a girlfriend ordered at a restaurant.
Q: Have you ever biked that far before?
A: No.
Q: How about 500 miles?
A: No.
Q: A hundred?
A: No.
Q: Fifty?
A: Over the course of my lifetime, yes. Wait, no.
Q: Do you even own a bike?
A: I don’t think I like your tone.
Q: You don’t even have a bike, do you?
A: No, but I will have one soon. I’m just waiting for my 12-year-old neighbor to leave it lying on the grass long enough for me to take it.
Q: What if you don’t make it all the way there?
A: I will.
Q: Right, but what if you don’t?
A: I’m confused. Did I just give up, or die along the way?
Q: You gave up.
A: Well, that sucks. I guess I hope Red Bull would appreciate the effort and interview me anyway.
Q: What if you bike to Denver for the interview for the interview but don’t get the job?
A: What are you, a pessimist?

A: Oh. Well, I … I … I don’t know. That’s a really depressing thought.

A: I would thank them for the chance to interview for the position and pursue my next opportunity.
Q: You wouldn’t be upset?
A: No, they didn’t ask me to bike there. It was my idea. They don’t owe me anything, although a drink of water would be nice. A Red Bull would be even better.
