The Going Away Party Before the Going Away Party

Here are a few pictures from the night before my going away party. Me, the Horse Whisperer, my brother LJ and his girlfriend had one last rendez-vous at The Dubliner, my favorite irish pub in Phoenix. I took a lot more pictures, but the HW is in most of them, and well, I’m not quite ready to remove the curtain.

I Want to Touch the Light, the Heat I See in Your Eyes

This year for Halloween, I went as Lloyd Dobler from “Say Anything.” The Horse Whisperer didn’t have a costume, so we had her go as Diane Court - the object of Lloyd’s affection.

Since we were mimicking the scene where Lloyd wakes her up by holding a boombox outside her window and playing Peter gabriel’s “In Your Eyes,” she wore a blue nightie and carried around a window frame I made out of posterboard.

The Horse Whisperer

What? Come on. You had to have known this was coming.

Sweet-Ass Car

I wanted to wait around this ride for the owner to see if he’d sell me his car for a few hundred bucks. Kick ass.

Sin City

Evidently, there are a few people who read this blog and subsequently, are not entirely sure what Las Vegas is all about. Well, of the 74 photos I took, this one seemed to do the city justice.

Anyone have suggestions for a name?

Welcome to the World Aidan

I’ve mentioned I’m now an uncle. Here’s why.

Aidan was born weighing 9.2 pounds, 21 inches long. He’ll be posting me up by the time he’s four.

He’s very healthy, although my sister said it was a difficult pregnancy. He came out wearing hockey skates.

Cowboy Up

Photos from the horse lesson this weekend. I didn’t get bucked or kicked, so I consider it a success. I’ve felt like chewing Skoal all day today. It’s a nice pick-me-up, although the whole tongue cancer thing can really ruin a weekend.
